Bridging Precision Theory, Event Simulation andNovel Computing Paradigms for the High Luminosity LHC Era

Abstract

he High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) will deliver an unprecedented level of experimental precision, placing stringent demands on theoretical predictions and simulation tools. Meeting these demands requires close integration of advances in scattering amplitudes, resummation, Monte-Carlo event generation, uncertainty quantification, and modern computing paradigms.
We propose a five-week programme at the Galileo Galilei Institute bringing together these communities through four thematically linked workshop weeks, with the 20th-anniversary MCnet Summer School embedded centrally as a dedicated training and community-building event. The programme will address novel computing approaches for precision physics, precision requirements and systematic uncertainties for HL-LHC analyses, advances in parton showers and resummation beyond QCD, and the interface between modern amplitudes and event-level simulation.

By fostering sustained interaction between theorists, computational scientists, and experimentalists, the programme aims to define realistic precision targets, accelerate the development of next-generation simulation tools, and train the next generation of researchers, thereby strengthening the theoretical foundations for HL-LHC physics.

Poster session

The participants who would like to present a poster are kindly invited to send an email with the title and a short abstract to alice.bernamonti@unifuit before May 22, specifying for which week of the workshop. Since a limited number of panels is available, the organizers will select the posters shortly after the deadline.
