Simons Foundation for GGI

The Simons Foundation has chosen to approve the funding for a Simons Fellowship program at the Galileo Galilei Institute (GGI) for Theoretical Physics for a five-year period beginning July 1, 2015.

These funds allow to support extended visits of eminent scientists at the GGI and the participation of PhD students in the GGI schools.

Every year the GGI can support the visit of two fellows per workshop, attending the whole duration of each program. Candidates for Simons GGI visiting scientists are proposed by the organizers of each workshop to a GGI special committee.
