1. From D-branes to the AdS/CFT correspondence

2. Background material: Anti de Sitter spacetime and conformal field theory

3. Holographic dictionary: IR/UV connection, field/operator correspondence, holographic correlation functions, eternal black hole and thermofield double state

PART II

1. Some basic notions from quantum information theory such as entanglement entropy and relative entropy, and some of their properties

2. Entanglement entropy in quantum field theory: divergences, Rindler space, modular Hamiltonians, c-theorem

3. Entanglement and holography, the Ryu-Takayanagi formula

4. Applications to strongly coupled field theories and quantum gravity, the information paradox
