Simons @ GGI

The Simons Foundation approved the funding for a Simons Fellowship program at the Galileo Galilei Institute (GGI) for Theoretical Physics for a five-year period beginning July 1, 2015.

These funds allow to support extended visits of eminent scientists at the GGI and increase the participation of PhD students, Post-Docs and young researchers in the training weeks and the GGI schools.

Every year the GGI can support the visit of about three or four Simons Visiting Scientists per workshop, with the role of enriching and stimulating scientific activity . Candidates for Simons Visiting Scientist position at GGI are proposed by the organizers of each workshop.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and the suspension of in-person activities, GGI has asked and obtained no-cost extensions of the grant till June 30th, 2023.
