Call for 2024 "Theory meets Experiments" School Proposals

The Galileo Galilei Institute for Theoretical Physics organizes and hosts 5 PhD schools on different domains of theoretical physics. Due to the importance of the interaction between the theoretical and experimental communities, in 2023 we proposed a further school aiming at providing lectures covering basic topics from a theoretical as well as experimental point of view on a specific argument.

Due to the success of the last year edition of the "Theory meets Experiments" (TmE) PhD school, we are now opening a new call for the 2024 to collect proposals. There are several hot topics in the physics of fundamental interactions which are suitable for a synergetic approach joining theory and experiments.

Proposals for the 2024 TmE school should be submitted by May 31 , 2024 by filling this application form. All proposals will be reviewed and selected by a Committee formed by the presidents of the INFN National Scientific Committees and the GGI Director.

The student selection will be done by the Organizing Committee of the school which will coordinate the scientific activity, propose the lecturers and decide about seminars and topical discussions. As for the other GGI schools, students, lecturers and organisers will have a desk available and will fully enjoy the GGI facilities. Typically a GGI school hosts about 50 students.

The 2024 TmE School will be organised by following the successful format of the GGI schools, with lectures at the blackboard and ample space dedicated to question sessions. The programme will cover 2 weeks from November 11 to November 22, 2024.

A TmE school proposal should contain:
