Theoretical Aspects of Astroparticle Physics, Cosmology and Gravitation - 2020 CANCELLEDMar 09, 2020 - Mar 20, 2020
Astroparticle Physics, Cosmology and Gravitation are nowadays very active areas of research. The School aims at providing robust and detailed introductions on the basic theoretical concepts and tools needed for performing research in these fields. Gravitational waves of astrophysical and cosmological origin, neutrino physics and astronomy, dark matter and dark energy, galactic and extra-galactic cosmic rays and gamma-rays will be some among the main topics. The lecturers are selected among the best experts of our international communities.
Sterile neutrinos in physics, astrophysics, cosmology - Lecturer: Carlo Giunti (University of Turin); Tutor: Stefano Gariazzo (IFIC Valencia)
Cosmic rays and multimessenger astronomy - Lecturer: Markus Ahlers (Niels Bohr Institute, Copenhagen) - Tutor: Yoann Genolini (ULB Brussels)
Particle dark matter: WIMPs, axions and axion like particles - Lecturer: Laura Covi (Georg-August University Goettingen) - Tutor: Sarif Khan (Gottinga)
Inflation and primordial black holes - Lecturer: Chris Byrnes (University of Sussex) - Tutor: Philippa Coles (U. Sussex)
We regret to inform you that, due to the unforeseen circumstances related to the COVID-19 diffusion in the world and in Italy, which make any further development unpredictable by the day, the GGI PhD School on Theoretical Aspects of Astroparticle Physics, Cosmology and Gravitation (planned during 9-20 March 2020) will not take place. We hope to resume it at a later date (to be decided in due time). This decision is taken in the primary interest of safety for all of you, also according to current health policies that disfavor gathering of people. We apologize for any incovenience this may cause.
