Training Week

GGI school on asymptotic symmetries and flat holography

May 19, 2025 - May 23, 2025

Apply (deadline: Nov 30, 2024 )

Abstract
This school is designed for students and postdocs eager to explore cutting-edge developments in gravity in asymptotically flat spacetimes. The program will explore the rich interplay between asymptotic symmetries in General Relativity, scattering amplitudes, and gravitational wave observables. Participants will also be introduced to twistor theory and to the emerging fields of celestial and Carrollian holography. Each topic will be presented through four to five hours of lectures by world-renowned experts, offering a comprehensive introduction for young researchers in the field.

Topics
Amplitudes, waveforms and memory effects — Carlo Heissenberg (IPhT Saclay)
Asymptotic symmetries — Simone Speziale (CNRS & Marseille University)
Carroll physics for holography — Yannick Herfray (IDP Tours)
Celestial holography — Sabrina Pasterski (Perimeter Institute) and Ana-Maria Raclariu (King's College London)
Twistor approach to asymptotic symmetries and flat holography — Tim Adamo (Endiburgh University)

*Important*: the selection process will start soon after the deadline. Late applications will be also accepted until full capacity is reached
