School
Theory Meets Experiments 2025
Direct Detection across Dark Matter mass ranges
Nov 10, 2025 - Nov 21, 2025
Abstract
This school aims to provide the next generation of physicists with a comprehensive foundation in dark matter direct detection, integrating both experimental techniques and theoretical models across a wide range of potential dark matter mass scales. On the theoretical side, students will explore diverse dark matter production mechanisms and models, equipping them with the tools necessary to calculate dark matter scattering rates. By seamlessly connecting theory with experiment, the program will help identify clear, actionable targets for future experimental endeavors. Covering both advanced experimental and theoretical topics, the school will foster essential collaborations between theory and experiment—collaborations that are crucial for designing the next generation of experiments and shaping the future directions of dark matter research.
Welcome to Healthy Minds for Masterminds - FLASH!
A dynamic series of weekly 45 minutes sessions designed to foster mental wellbeing at Galileo Galilei Institute's PhD Schools.
Sessions are facilitated by psychologist and mental health researcher Sarah Speziali, participants are invited to actively engage and open up the conversations on mental health in academia and beyond. Rooted in scientific research, Healthy Minds for Masterminds - FLASH offers an inclusive approach and practical tools to identify, develop, and strengthen mental health resources and emotional awareness to enhance mental wellbeing.
