Abstract
We are pleased to announce that on 16th December, the Galileo Galilei Institute's Post-Docs will give short seminars to illustrate their research activities during this year. The event is conceived to show how the research carried out by young researchers at the GGI contributes to the advancement of several topics in theoretical physics

Abstract

"Health checkup test of the standard cosmological model"

Recently, intriguing tensions and anomalies are severely questioning the correctness of the standard Lambda Cold Dark Matter (ΛCDM) model of cosmology, motivating both the need to double check its underlying assumptions and the opportunity to probe new physics with increasing precision. In this talk I will discuss both possibilities in light of the most recent observations of the cosmic microwave background temperature and polarization anisotropies.

Abstract

"Integrable quantum circuits from statistical mechanics"

After introducing the basic notions of out-of-equilibrium physics of quantum many-body systems and quantum integrability, I will explain some recent works on constructing integrable quantum circuits using methods in statistical mechanics of lattice models, such as Yang-Baxter relation and star-triangle relation

Abstract

"Phenomenological n-12C optical potential"

We have constructed a n-12C optical potential up to 500 MeV. Results for the energy dependence of the total cross sections are obtained with the eikonal method using the phenomenological potential and a folded potential and compared to the experimental data.

Abstract

Who ordered that?

Starting from a novel point of view on flavor physics we will discuss loop mass generation and look at some of the recent flavor anomalies
