Workshop
Low-dimensional Quantum Field Theories and Applications
Sep 01, 2008 - Nov 07, 2008Exact methods in low-dimensional field theory and integrable systems are at the heart of many areas of physics and mathematics, spanning from condensed matter, statistical mechanics and string theory, to infinite dimensional algebras, topology and probability theory. More recently, they have opened the way to the comprehension of many fascinating experiments in strongly correlated systems and ultracold atoms. In the domain of fundamental interactions, integrable systems are playing an important role in the gauge/gravity correspondence, while in critical phenomena they have helped establishing a new relation with stochastic processes.
The aim of the workshops is to address the novel ideas and challenges coming from all these fields, bringing together researchers of different communities. A one week conference will take place on September 8-12, 2008.

Abstract
Physical combinatorics and TBA Paths on A_L diagrams are used to describe eigenvalues of the transfer matrix of RSOS models. Lattice quasi-particles are introduced. We argue that an energy-preserving bijection matches quasi-particles and zeros of the transfer matrix eigenvalues. At the scaling limit, exact thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz equations are derived and solved for all states of the models. |

Abstract
Hausdorff dimensions for random walks and their winding sectors Lattice numerical simulations for planar closed random walks and their winding sectors are presented. The frontiers of the random walks and of their winding sectors have a Hausdorff dimension dH = 4/3. However, when properly defined by taking into account the inner 0-winding sectors, the frontiers of the random walks have a Hausdorff dimension dH=7/4. |
